Balancing the Books

Good Day all,

If you remember a while back, I posted my new budget for all to see. I haven’t talked to much about that with you all because I haven’t thought to much about it recently. I balance it at the end of each two weeks and see where I’m at but I haven’t been trying particularly hard to stay in any bounds. I was a bit worried that would mean I was waaaay off in my goals but I was wrong. I have 6 more days left to go and still have wiggle room.

A few things not included on this budget were my trip to Texas Renaissance Festival ($70) and one large grocery store run ($50). These were actually paid with cash from my sale of my Kayak. That’s right… there was a 5ft kayak in my walk in closet. A left over from trying to create healthier fun habits. I like to kayak but I don’t go often enough to justify keeping one just  jammed in my closet space. I decided to spend that money in a fun way and enjoyed trying out a new chili recipe that I wanted to use for a party this weekend. It was a great choice. I didn’t like the recipe so much and am going with a different one.

When you look at the budget, you’ll notice the car insurance was super high.. That’s because I paid all 6 months at once to say around 30 dollars. Worth it. Do you know of anything else I can buy in “time” bulk and save money on? I’d love to keep bringing down costs. =)

Keep chasing your dreams!

Nicely done some art teacher 🙂

I would set up a budget as well, but I hear that one actually needs MONEY that they CAN budget!!!

On a lighter note, are you doing WW online or live in person?

    • Thank ya!

Anyone can set up a budget. You can set one up just to track where you are spending and make sure it’s what you want in life. On the other hand, I’ve seen lots of people use their budget as a way to create a money earning goal too. Just depends on your wants and needs in life =) If it makes life easier, then you track and set those financial goals. If it has no benefit to you, then there is no need. =)

I’m doing WW online. I don’t have time for the meetings if I am working on meeting my other goals.

  2. I’ve always admired your ability to budget. This is something I need to work on. I’ll start out watching and logging, but I have trouble keeping it up.
